Youth Offending Team (YOT) establish youth inclusion programme base
with NSSR).

Executive Director appointed.

Unit 19 employment training project launched.

Communities First Team employed.
The (Sandfields First) Communities First Partnership formed.
NSA PC Care digital inclusion project launched.
The 10 year lease on the Lido signed and Local Action Centre (LAC) opened.
First 5 year Business Plan published – consultants ‘Insight.’
Partnership agreement between NSSR and Communities First Partnership.

2004
Unit 19 NIACE National UK Award for innovative approaches to learning.
Communities First Team achieved IIP status.

2005
NSSR expands its area of benefit to include Aberavon. Company renamed
‘New Sandfields Aberavon Sustainable Regeneration’ (NSA).
Aberavon awarded Communities First Status: Partnership
incorporates Aberavon.

2006
Sandfields Training Resource Initiative Developing Employment Skills (STRIDES)
granted ERDF Objective One funding. Demountables purchased in
Sandfields School. £1.3million project.
NSA Cappacha Café project, opened in Lido. Funded by CFAP and NPT
Objective One Key Fund.
Fastgrowth 50 Wales Award for one of the fastest growing SME’s.

2007
NSA PC Care awarded Communities@one funding.
First Disadvantaged Area Fund (DAF) contract awarded.
Partnership Agreement with the Upper Afan Forum signed.

2008
NSA IIP status.“The organisation is soaring with success,” says IIP Assessor.
Fastgrowth 50 Wales Award for fastest growing Community and Social Business.

2009
NSA Works – contracts awarded for Flexible New Deal (FND) and
Disadvantaged Area Fund (DAF).
Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) opened in Hopkin Street, Aberavon.
Funded by Big Lottery.
10th Anniversary of the NSA Beach Festival.
DAF and FND contracts awarded.

2010
STRIDES Alliance. ESF Convergence funding awarded for 3 years
£2.9million project.
BASE project: A multi generational project,£48,000 Outcomes
Funded for 2 years.

Circuit Riders - £38,000 funding for digital inclusion from Communities 2.0
for Swansea Bay; Waterfront and the Western Valleys.
